Why Knomart Agents Have No Territories

Any agent, any merchant, anywhere. Territories protect incumbents and leave merchants stuck with whoever was assigned to them.

No geographic boundary

An Agent is not restricted to one neighbourhood, town or assigned area. There is no territory that gives one Agent exclusive rights to merchants in a particular location.

This means an Agent can build a merchant book based on relationships and opportunity rather than waiting for a territory to become available.

Why keep the model open?

Territories can turn geography into a permission system. An open model removes that barrier. If an Agent can reach a genuine merchant and provide the required support, location by itself does not prevent the relationship from being built.

It also means Agents need to compete through service and relationships rather than through a claim that a particular area belongs to them.

What this means for an Agent

  • Work where opportunity exists: You are not limited to one assigned area.
  • Build relationships: The merchant relationship matters more than geography.
  • Support your merchants: Your role continues after the signup.
  • Earn through real merchant activity: Your recurring commission comes from what your merchants pay while they stay.

Open does not mean unmanaged

No territories does not mean there are no rules. Merchant ownership still matters. The merchant chooses the Agent, and a merchant can request to switch to another Agent. The original Agent is notified and has 14 days to resolve the relationship before the switch completes.

That creates an important incentive: service the merchants you sign. In an open market, strong relationships are a better defence than geographic exclusivity.

The bigger idea

Any Agent, any merchant, anywhere. That is the simple territory rule. Agents are free to look for genuine opportunities without waiting for permission to enter a particular area, while merchants remain free to choose who they want to work with.

The result is a model built around access, service and relationships rather than territory ownership.
