Approaching shops one by one is part of selling, but not every door has to be approached as a completely cold door. In a market or trading area, there may be a chairman or recognised leader who knows the businesses and the people working there.
Start with the person who knows the market
A market chairman is not simply another prospect. The useful opportunity is the relationship and knowledge they already have within the market. Instead of walking in and immediately presenting Knomart to every trader, start by introducing yourself and explaining why you are there.
Be respectful. You are asking for an introduction, not demanding access to the businesses.
Make the conversation easy to understand
Your opening should still follow the principle from the previous selling lesson: lead with the business problem, not a list of software features. A simple question about how businesses keep track of their money can create a more useful conversation than a long product explanation.
The goal is not to make the chairman sell Knomart for you. The goal is to help them understand what you are offering and why it may be relevant to businesses in their market.
Ask for an introduction, not a favour without context
If the chairman is comfortable with the conversation, ask whether they can introduce you to one or more business owners who may want to understand the solution. An introduction is stronger when the business owner knows why you are being connected.
When you meet the merchant, return to the same approach: listen first, understand the business, and explain only what is relevant.
Protect the relationship
Do not treat the chairman as a shortcut to a list of names. Respect their position and the trust they have built. If a merchant is not interested, accept the answer. If a conversation is useful, follow through professionally.
A warm introduction does not remove the need to earn trust. It simply gives you a better starting point.
Find the trusted door. Enter respectfully. Then earn the merchant's confidence yourself.
