Why the Agent Keeps the Full Setup Fee

Setup is a person's time, paid same day, in full. Here is why none of it goes to Knomart.

The fee is tied to real work

Bringing a merchant onto Knomart is more than making an introduction. The Agent helps the business get started, supports the initial setup and becomes the first point of contact for the merchant.

That human work is why the setup fee matters. It gives the Agent a direct payment for the work completed at the beginning of the merchant relationship.

How much is the setup fee?

The setup fee is one month of the merchant's selected subscription tier:

  • Free: $10 setup fee.
  • Standard level: $20 setup fee.
  • Premium level: $50 setup fee.

The merchant pays the setup fee, and the Agent keeps 100% of it. This is separate from recurring subscription commission.

Setup fee and recurring commission are different

The setup fee is the payment connected to getting the merchant started. Recurring commission is different: on paid tiers, the Agent earns 50% of what the merchant pays each month for as long as the merchant stays.

For example, a merchant onboarded at the standard level pays a $20 setup fee that the agent keeps in full. If that merchant then runs $20 of apps, the agent earns $10 each month under the recurring commission model.

Why this matters for Agents

The model connects effort to an immediate payment while also creating an opportunity for ongoing income from a successful merchant relationship. It also means the Agent is not relying only on future upgrades or future subscription payments to recognise the work done during setup.

Do the setup work well, support the merchant properly and earn the setup fee in full. The recurring relationship comes afterward.
