The Verified Index is an annual account of what Knomart Community produced in a year. Its definition is published here, in advance of the first edition, for a specific reason: a measure defined after the results are known is not a measure.
What the Index will report
- Member economic value — total earned by members through the platform
- Member earning rate — the share of members who earned anything at all
- Free-to-paid conversion, members and merchants separately
- Applications before a first win, as a distribution rather than an average
- Opportunity density per member per estate
- Merchant retention at six and twelve months
- Agent survival at month six, and the full earnings distribution
- Member-to-merchant progression — members who became businesses
Verified means checkable
Every figure will carry its definition, its period and its source. Where a number is derived rather than counted, that will be said. Where the definition changes between editions, both the old and new basis will be shown, because a redefined metric is the oldest way to report improvement that did not happen.
Distributions, not averages
An average is the easiest number to make flattering. Where a distribution exists — earnings, applications before a first win, time to a first job — the spread will be published, including the bottom of it.
What will not appear
Signups as a headline. Both members and merchants can use Knomart free indefinitely, so community size measures how attractive free is, not whether the model works. Cumulative totals that only ever rise will not be used in place of rates that can fall.
Including the year it goes badly
The commitment is to publish the same measures on the same basis every year, including years where they get worse. An index that appears only when the news is good is advertising with a schedule.
Nothing published yet
There is no first edition, because there is not yet a full year to report. This page is the standard being set in advance, so the first edition can be judged against it.
